Okay this is how to get your attack animation time.

First know your AS.

If you have a 30 agi. (30 agi= 30% AS)(1 agi=1% AS)

Okay then if you have an item or skill that gives you +AS%. For example. You have +15% AS. Add that to the agi that you computed earlier.

Ex.

30% + 15% = 45%

After this you must divide the percentage to 100%.

Ex.

45%/100% = 0.45

Then subtract 1.7 (attack time when you don't have stats) to the result.

Ex.

1.7 - 0.45 = 1.25

Then 1.25 is your attack time from your AS.


Well this is just a theorem. If you believe in this just do and compute it. I am not that 100% sure about this so I will let you judge.

Actually if you see my post in DS you can see that there are some wrong or particular ideas about this. Well, if this is well it is just a theorem.

(1+IAS)/(BAT)

This is actually the formula for Attack Speed, with IAS being increase attack speed and BAT, the base attack time [it's the time a hero will attack (full animation)]

As the topic starter said, 1 point of agility will procure a 1% IAS, items also contribute to this. Another thing to know is that attack speed will stack fully, with no diminishing returns.

Most heroes have a BAT of 1.7, there are a few exceptions though, such as Lycanthrope in wolf form [1.44 BAT], Vengeful Spirit [1.77 BAT] and Syllabear in Bear Form [1.6 BAT]

It was asked above why should we learn this? This is so that we don't waste buying Attack Speed items that will result to improper use of gold. Fact is that there is an attack speed limit of 400%, any more than that will only result in this.

This fact is rendered true that most people will learn lvl 4 overpower on Ursa Warrior, [400% IAS], while you can get max attack speed with level 3 [as you will also have to factor in his inate IAS and items you will buy from him]. Thus saving you a skill point.

I think what he means is, that when Ursa gets level 3 overpower, it's already max speed because of the BAT and the IAS from items also (if you have).. Yes true also saving you a skill point for something else...
